do you know offhand if I'd need to uninstall the free version and then install the purchased version, or would the purchase just take over the free version? ![]() Their sale is ending in a couple of days so I'll probably buy it for the sale price of 69.99 while I still can. had to trash a bunch of folders and reinstall. Thanks but I got it up and running via L6 support ticket. Once the AAX toolkit supports Apple's M1 processor architecture, we will provide new AAX versions for macOS, with support for Big Sur and both Intel and Apple M1 CPUs. If you're a Pro Tools user on macOS, please continue using the previous version of Podolski for the time being. We are therefore not able to provide updated AAX versions on macOS, neither for Intel CPUs, nor for Apple M1. The current version of Avid's toolkit for building AAX plug-ins is not compatible with the Apple SDK needed to build plug-ins for Apple's new ARM/M1 processors. I found this while I was downloading an update to an old soft synth (Podolski), not sure how relevant it is in your situation. Now the question is, does/can it work in PT? So we've established that Native works w/M1 computers. Weird DAW, every time I opened a plugin, the Reaper windows would disappear, showing only the plugin selected. Now let's see if I can navigate Reaper any better than GB.ĮDIT- okay, I just downloaded Reaper and I was able to open Native. Gibson's greatest competition is its ghost. Once great, but ultimately eclipsed by other companies while it rested on its laurels. I think protools has become the Gibson of the DAW world. Maybe I'll try Reaper, which was the DAW I was considering changing to before ultimately deciding to stick with.wait for it- the evil I already know.well, for the most part. ![]() I've had no issues opening and running other 3rd party plugins so this is unique to Native. like I've been saying- the evil you know. well, I hate garage band because I just tried to see if I Native showed up in it and I couldn't even find a damned mix window to look for it in. LOL.as evidenced in your very first sentence no less(and last). I'm not sure about this version, but IIRC ProTools First would NOT load any third party plugins that had not been download from Avid. ![]() I just noticed that you have the Pro Tools Artist version. You did get replies from other user's telling you that Helix Native works fine for them on their M1 Macs - They have no reason to try and deceive you.Īnyhow - at the moment what you have is the demo - it is not a financial disaster, thus far it has cost you nothing but time. You could also download any of the freebie and or demo DAWs that are available and see if/how Native runs on them. The easy way to check out if Native is functioning correctly is to open it up in GarageBand - it ships installed on every Mac. ![]() I'm going to guess that this is more to do with ProTools being temperamental with that awful AAX plug in thing that Avid uses. Okay, what did I do wrong here? Mac is running Monterey 12.3.1 I inquired about a week ago as to whether Native runs on my computer and was told it did, but after installing last night, when I open pro tools (Artist V22.5.0.192), I get the message, "the following plugin (Native) failed to load because it is not a valid 64 bit AAX plugin".
